Anti-Trumper Ben Shapiro On Trump-Kim Summit: “The Paper That Was Signed Yesterday Is Weak”
GP ^ | 06/12/18 | Jim Hoft

Why is it that the #NeverTrump crowd can never celebrate President Trump’s historic achievements?  Trump has had the most successful first 500 days in presidential history.

And on the world stage President Trump is putting American interests first — something we have not seen in decades.

After President Trump’s historic summit meeting wtih Kim Jong Un Ben Shapiro went on FOX and Friends and threw water on the fire.

Ben told the morning crew, “The president’s praise for the dictator of North Korea was disquieting… The paper that was signed yesterday was weak.”

Ben, who is a favorite of the DC establishment, then went on slam the Trump administration for putting US flags next to the North Korean flags.

So what is the difference between Ben Shapiro and what you would hear on MSNBC or CNN this morning?

How awful.

Ben Shapiro, been-nowhere done-nothing millennial writer-talker. Yeah guess I’ll really take his armchair critique seriously

Ben Shapiro is a great debater and advocate for conservatism, but he does have a blind spot regarding Trump. That doesn’t mean he is an enemy. Given time he may change his attitude regarding Trump like Beck and Dennis Prager have.

Shapiro is intelligent and articulate (and probably clean as well). The problem is intelligence does not equal wisdom, and he has not learned wisdom.

A wise man would know that while it’s perfectly okay to express his opinions, doing so in an arrogant, petulant and condescending manner lessens the likelihood of persuading others. It’s not the mark of a wise man - it’s that of a fool.

Though I agree with your general assessment, it depends on his goals. He may not be trying to convince the left. Rather, like Trump he’s trying to OUT the left, and does so magnificently. And those that are not leftist or are only considering it notice.

I think he shows great wisdom, but I think you and I disagree because we differ on our take on what he is trying to achieve.

"Soupy Sales? There’s a blast from the past!"

__________

Yep.

Remember when the government came down on Soupy for suggesting to all the kids that they should go get those pieces of paper with George Washington's picture on them in their parents' wallets and purses and send them to him?

LOL

Level headed? Sharp thinker? solid track record?

He is vindictive know it all who is often wrong but never in doubt - a fast talking ranting bully.

He makes Medved look smart and Levin well-mannered he is not an important voice in the conservative movement.

He is just another pimp of punditry shilling crap.

[Sivulka, 1998] --- "In January 1965 on his morning children’s show, the performer Soupy Sales suggested to his young viewers that they find the wallets of their sleeping fathers and take out “some of those funny green pieces of paper with all those nice pictures of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Alexander Hamilton, and send them along to your old pal, Soupy, care of WNEW, New York.”"

[Collected on the Internet, 1997]

“Hey kids, last night was New Year’s Eve, and your mother and dad were out having a great time. They are probably still sleeping and what I want you to do is tiptoe in their bedroom and go in your mom’s pocketbook and your dad’s pants, which are probably on the floor. You’ll see a lot of green pieces of paper with pictures of guys in beards. Put them in an envelope and send them to me at Soupy Sales, Channel 5, New York, New York. And you know what I’m going to send you? A post card from Puerto Rico!”

____________

He should have just stuck with the pies in the face.

I didn’t know his show for kids or the pies—or even realize he had such a show. But yeah, in that context, the suggestion was indeed too much—and a riot.

I remember him from “What’s My line?”

Did he ever drop a pie in the face of Dorothy Kilgallen? She always was really smart and found out who was who on that show ................ AND ELSEWHERE -- (JFK).

I think you’re before my time again.

I remember Arlene Francis (mostly, besides Soupy), Bennett Cerf, Johnny Olsen and Chet Gould.

No one has ever seen Pajama Boy, David Hogg, and Ben Shapiro in the same room at the same time.

Ben Shapiro is 34 yrs old. And acts like a self-impressed teenager.

The guys who backed Cruz?

Then we know what real perspective they’d have Cruz acting on — if they thought it could get/keep Cruz elected in Texas.

But I think you're comment is a little too nuanced for this crowd.

Yeah. That's what's going on.

You two and little Ben are just too nuanced for the rest of us to appreciate.
