Mark Sanford has been very unhelpful to me in my campaign to MAGA. He is MIA and nothing but trouble. He is better off in Argentina. State Rep. Katie Arrington (R) is a first-term legislator from an outer suburban Charleston seat. Arrington has had good fundraising thanks to $400K in self-funding, though she has raised a significant amount from donors as well. Arrington has been using that cash on a no-holds-barred negative campaign, blasting Sanford on his long history in politics, his Trump skepticism, and his affair. She is generally running as an establishment conservative and promising to be more loyal to Trump. Arrington has significant institutional support from the sizeable portion of Republicans in the area who are sick of Sanford. Sanford has hit back at Arrington over some of her fiscally moderate votes in the legislature.
Overall, the primary between Sanford and Arrington is looking like one of the year’s most nasty and highly competitive, and there looks to be no clear favorite. There is also a non-serious left-wing Some Dude in the GOP primary, who could theoretically peel off enough low-info and protest votes to extend the race by two weeks if Sanford and Arrington are close enough. Democrats will likely nominate attorney Joe Cunningham (D), who should prevail over a non-serious Some Dude. Cunningham has had good fundraising for such a tough district, and is running as a moderate liberal. However, this seat is red enough to still look like it is off the edge of the playing field barring an unforced error or intensifying of a Dem wave. RRH Elections currently rates this general election as Safe R.
I’d say Sanford’s going to have to work with Trump if he wants to remain in office.

If Trump would have said something much earlier, the Rats would have flooded the airwaves for Sanford just to make Trump look bad.
Hopefully polling indicates that the scumbag Sanford is done for and that someone new will be replacing that pile of human garbage.
I once had a Freeper attack me for trashing Sanford when he was facing Colbert’s daughter or wife or whatever ... it made more sense to me to let that idiot win that seat than let that fraud sit there and tarnish the Conservative brand. The idiot would have been beaten that fall by someone more deserving of that seat.
Maybe it was a shot across the bow to other GOP establishment types with upcoming primaries?
Every Republican candidate wants the President’s endorsement and to campaign with them.
He’s got a great record and the Democrats are Debbie Downers. We don’t need that attitude in America.
MAGA is what the Republican Party should stand for and the American people aren’t tired of winning.

Sanford is a despicable human being and a RINO.
I supported Sanford because if Colbert’s sister had won - no matter how long she served - she would have become a national figure and, no doubt, a PMSNBC contributor. One lying scumbag Colbert employed to hurl insults is enough. Now is the perfect time to replace Sanford with a real conservative... something the state party should have done by running someone, anyone, other than him for that seat in the first place.

My daughter and voted for Katie today. There is no runoff in SC. Too bad Trump didn’t her earlier.
