Referendum to split Calif into three states will appear on the November ballot

The only reason to divide Californistan is to separate the rot from the healthy fruit. Don't allow them spread the rot with this plan. Instead split the state into two, with one of the new states being the coastal region reaching up from Mexico to a little beyond San Francisco. Hack that strip off and let it rot. Then we gain two conservative Senators to offset them, as well as the House members.

Under the referendum process the voters assume the powers of the Legislature, so only congressional approval will be necessary. The commenters are correct. This plan would create two solid blue states and a wobbler. The proper division would be the coast from Marin to Los Angeles, then all the rest. That said I’m going to vote for this: I don’t think it will pass. If it does I don’t think Congress will approve, but it could give rise to changes to allow the State of Jefferson to be created, or more power to the rural counties

How convenient his plan is. Each new state will be dominated by a big city, meaning all 3 states will still stay in the Democrat column come Presidential election. Wonder if he is doing this to prevent a more fair break up of the state?

Yes I agree. The proposed split puts Sab Francisco/San Jose in Northern California where those voters will overwhelm the real Northern Cal voters that are very Conservative. That area should have been included with the coastal California area, where the bulk of the California crazies reside. People are right as it is proposed to split the cal crazies would gain at least 2 more Senators and possibly 1 more from SoCal.....This proposed split is intentially gerrymandered to give the Dems greater Senate seats. Split....yes. As proposed....He!! No!

Problem is that the huge voter counts in the parasite leftist urban areas will kill an attempt to separate them from the more conservative (and tired of poisonous leftism) ‘host’ areas propping their sick socialism up.

NEXT TIME, the measure should allow COUNTY BY COUNTY to vote whether to stay in ‘California’ -— and ONLY THE after that to regroup together as THOSE THAT LEAVE decide (several states, maybe one called ‘Union’ ??).

Let the Leftists/Welfarehavens in Sanfran, Sacto and Los Angeles be pushed out (as the drones they are) to shrivel up and die.
