The Director of the FBI term of appointment in office is 10 years. That is supposed to insulate them from political influence.

This goes far deeper, I think, than the Justice Dept., which is why Brennan is saying so confidently that Trump is only temporary.

Can you imagine being a mid-level Justice Dept. employee waking up one morning and becoming aware that you are working for a vast criminal enterprise that will spare no effort to subvert the US government and it's people? An enterprise that wouldn't hesitate to imprison and even murder its opponents? If you think that's going too far, look back on the folks who mysteriously died or suicided that had the goods on the Clintons. You can see why so many cooperated simply out of fear.

I think the founders would have thought it was over in the progressive era of Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson especially when it kicked into high gear. An income tax that made King Georges taxes look tiny, national slavery of citizens to join into a war between Europeans, a national mission to spread an American empire and gain colonies, the creation of an early FBI. Thoughtcrimes in the Espionage act. Congress abandoning it’s constitutional role to set the value of money to a private and foreign bank.

The Republic, as founded, ended in the early 1900s.

Multiple Republicans in Congress have warned him of severe consequences if he fires either Rosenstein or Sessions. And we already know how Dims will vote, no matter what.

However bad you thought the Obama regime and the "Russia" and "Stormy" nonsense were, our second Civil War will be so much worse. I pray that we will be able to avoid civil war and also avoid a Deep State victory over the American people. To put it mildly, I am not optimistic.

No, that is a maximum limit. Not a ‘term”. When appointed you are not given 10 years that you can expect to be left alone. And it’s intent was precisely the opposite. It wasn’t to protect the FBI from political influence. The FBI and DOJ were are not supposed to have ANY independence from the President...none whatsoever. The 10 year LIMIT was designed to prevent another J Edgar from “serving” for 50 years and running a national blackmail scheme as he did.
