One would think one would check photos before lying.

Journalistic malpractice! The 1100 becomes 700 in the body of the story. “Hundreds” becomes something approaching 200, most of whom were unaccompanied. We told they are “waiting”, but not what for (it sounds very much like a temporary holding facility pending movement elsewhere).
