Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. In each of these cities, The Intercept has identified an AT&T facility containing networking equipment that transports large quantities of internet traffic across the United States and the world.
the buildings are central to an NSA spying initiative that has for years monitored billions of emails, phone calls, and online chats passing across U.S. territory.
Its eye-opening and ominous the extent to which this is happening right here on American soil, said Elizabeth Goitein, co-director of the Liberty and National Security Program at the Brennan Center for Justice.
In 2003, the NSA launched new internet mass surveillance methods, which were pioneered under the FAIRVIEW program. The methods were used by the agency to collect within a few months some 400 billion records about peoples internet communications and activity, the New York Times previously reported. FAIRVIEW was also forwarding more than 1 million emails every day to a keyword selection system at the NSAs Fort Meade headquarters.
After you read this exhaustive article you can read my tome:
History lessons on telecom and how we got here [gov spying on all citizens] http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3032748/posts
Makes me wonder what else they have going against we the people???
Here is the link to an article I wrote describing the history of givernment wiretapping and methods over the years

.gov thinks “1984” was a “how to” manual. :-(
awesome article that confirms everything I thought I knew about the No Such Agency. They even scoop up Skype chat.
From the comments:
The idea of sacrificing the First, Second, Fourth, Fifth amendments so we are all “safe” is absurd. 99% of mass violence in the past 100 years has been committed by over reaching government.
And No I don’t believe 911 was a false flag , but I do know it was utterly exploited. There will always be weaknesses and attacks on societies with liberty. And here will always be people who say we need to shred our liberty because of them. This has been the case with governments manipulating tragedies for millennia, documented since the Melian Debate and certainly occurring long before
Sorry but I don’t want us to be like Germany with no jury trials, I don’t want us to be like Japan with their 95 % confession rates from holding people without charge for four weeks, i don’t want to throw away double jeopardy or strong warrant requirements like Australia, not do I want a surveillance state like the UK, nor do I want an inquisitorial judicial system where judges work confidentially with prosecutors, like most of Europe.
I had a beloved cousin stabbed to death by a man who had gotten off his prior attack on a fifth amendment violation by the prosecutors. It pisses me off but I dont run around saying this means we need to drop the bill of rights.
This was posted last night. I started reading and didn’t have time to finish. I didn’t see in that this was more than speculation based on AT&T having helped NSA or something. Is this real? Are they really spying on Americans? This seems a bit more conspiracy theory than fact.
They have massive underground facilities too... stuff that will survive a nuclear war.
This is not directed at foreign entities, this spying is directed at US.
Snowden was a patriot, who released classified information to US Citizens.
I am glad he revealed this information, because I had little idea the govt was so intrusive into our everyday lives. 9/11 also illustrates that our govt will commit treasonous acts against our own country to increase its’ power.
Fast forward to the attacks on Candidate Trump, and later President Trump. The agencies were weaponized against Trump, which nullifies any complaint they had against Snowden.
Obama expands the NSA’s ability to share data with other agencies
The NSA can more easily disseminate “raw signals intelligence information” among the CIA, FBI and others.

Trump should give Snowden a full pardon.
I think shillary and co learned this as did SCOTUS.
You mean like installing an ineligible usurper against the Constitution?
Or importing third worlders against the will of the citizens?
Sorry. Did a search and didn’t see it.
And no, it is not speculation at all.
I wrote an article on how this is done in 2013.
I have 35 years in telecom.
Quick note of direct history.
My company had its Central Office located on a 3rd floor building.
The Secret Service was located on the 4th floor.
They served us with a demand for survelience capabilities and we complied.
They could monitor all traffic ingress/egress of our network and that’s not just the way it was....it is the way it is...
They missed the huge NSA complex in San Antonio, TX
Well, it proves the point that each little chip at the Bill of Rights enables some Richard Head, down the road, to use it against Americans or....political enemies.
Witness Barack giving the NSA wide latitude to share information with 16 other LEO and Intelligence agencies with only three days left to spare of his ever disappearing “Etch-a-Sketch” Residency.
He did this on January 17th, 2016 for what exigent imperative?
By the time Trump leaves office in 2025, Barack will be a mere asterisk.
My guess is that this extensive infrastructure is as much for tax enforcement as "terrorism".
Uhm, 2nd paragraph
