Steve Schmidt on Travel Ban: Trump is Responsible For the ‘Fulfillment of Osama bin Laden’s Vision’
Mediaite ^ | June 25, 2018 | Josh Feldman

Posted on 06/26/2018 3:20:57 PM PDT by EdnaMode

MSNBC’s Steve Schmidt––who recently left the Republican party––decried the Supreme Court decision upholding President Trump‘s travel ban.

Nicolle Wallace talked with her panel about the SCOTUS decision, looking back at how we got from the originally-proposed Muslim ban to here.

She said, “I remember people in the intelligence community saying to me, ‘Who do you think we rely on the most in the countries that could represent the greatest geopolitical threats from us?'”

Former FBI assistant director for counterintelligence Frank Figliuzzi said that today “we became a little bit less of that shining city on a hill” into a country that’s now “closed to people not like us.”

“You cannot separate the policy that’s been carried out at the border,” Wallace added, “from the President’s celebration from what Steve Bannon described… as ‘travel ban vindication.'”

Schmidt said that “today was a fantastic fulfillment of Osama bin Laden‘s vision by Donald J. Trump.”

He elaborated:

“What Osama bin Laden hoped to provoke was a war of civilization. A war between the West and one billion Muslims. And so what Donald Trump and this Muslim ban signal to the world is that Muslims are not welcome here, that this is––whether the conservative justices say in fact this is about executive power––the President’s clear intent was to impose a religious test, and that is as fundamentally un-American as anything that he’s done over the course of this presidency.”

He said moderate Islam is a key force in helping defeat “extremist Islamic radicalism” and today was a step in the wrong direction on that.

“Schmidt said that “today was a fantastic fulfillment of Osama bin Laden‘s vision by Donald J. Trump.”

This guy’s so full of it and has no idea what he is talking about. The major tactic of terrorist groups connected to Islam has been to infiltrate, grow in size and power, and take over the governments of countries through subversive means. England, France, and Germany are examples. By Trump putting a temporary hold on immigration and Visas to find a way to contain the problem, he is doing the dead opposite of what Ben Laden wished to see happen.

Has Schmidt ceased to fire electricity between his ears? How can anybody not see this and right him off as a liar and a political prostitute?

He is such a loser. Decrying whatever. Why do you think women are driving in SA Steve? Hmmmmm, that would be Donald J Trump, otherwise known as the Trump Effect.

Yep, POTUS had input into allowing women to drive in Saudia Arabia. Steve is such a political HACK.

EQUALS

Women driving. It is what it is. Love that Trump is on the down low about it.

Trump is such a BOSS.

He was equally worthless managing the McCain campaign in 2008. Harry Truman said it best - “the son-of-a-bitch is no good.”

Do these delusional idiots not know that all of those countries account for less than 8% of all Muslims in the WORLD! I mean really! This is going to cause an international war between the US and Muslims, for less than 8% of all Muslims?!?

He!! there aren’t 50% of Muslims who agree with the other 50% about which is the RIGHT Muslim religion, but they are going to band together to attack the US?!? LOL!

More importantly, do these idiots really not know that Obama also had immigration restrictions on each of these same countries at different points throughout his eight year reign?!?

This is just festering, pustule sores of Trump Derangement Syndrome on vivid display - PERIOD!

Yeah exactly. Many of them do not even attempt to assimilate when they move here.

As if the Muslims aren’t in a war with us now.

All McCain people who tried to destroy Palin. I think they saw her as a future threat so he chose her so they could destroy her before she got too big. They should have gone after Trump. Didn’t see that one coming. LoL

They actually do think they are clever. This is the mash up generation. They cannot analyze any thing on its own merits they must compare and contrast it to another thing that has already been prejudged for them.

At least Rolling Stone correctly calls him “ex-Republican strategist”, since he renounced his membership last week and doesn’t work with any party members anymore. Though Rolling Stone has a vested interest in not screwing up another story ever again!

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/features/steve-schmidt-party-of-trump-obliterated-w521978

Schmidt is a moron. He renounced the party and nearly all of its members, laying blame on Trump’s policy towards kids at the border. Instead of being another deranged loudmouth, had he used his influence and waited maybe 12 or 18 hours he would have seen Trump issue an executive order requiring ICE to keep families crossing the border together. Did he give Trump any kudos for that?

But I think perhaps this has more to do with Schmidt than Trump. I suggest he calculated that his personal economic best interest was in becoming and “ex-GOPer”, get invited onto TV a lot, and sell books, and publish youtube videos, blogs, podcasts etc as a defector to the left. Nobody on the left, center or right gives a crap what McCain’s former campaign manager has to say, but on the left they will find pleasure in having Schmidt affirming their worldview. That’s how Schmidt will make some coin.

Ah, Steve Schmidt and Nicolle Wallace. Two people who have long deserved to have their teeth punched down their throats.
