I read here a very rational thought. with the appointment of a conservative justice and a guranteed 5 vote win, there is no need for her to be. Sh is rendered irrelevant.
Whereas, with Kennedy, there was a chance her side could prevail.
It’s one thing to be old and matter and aanotherthing altogether to be old and irrelevant.

Meanwhile while everybody is focused on her, I could easily see Sotomayor or Breyer suddenly kicking the bucket. He’s about to be 80 and she’s 64 with type I diabetes and has had problems with her condition in the last year....the life expectancy for a woman with that condition is 68 btw.
Here’s a big question. If one of those three goes, thus pushing back any chance of a Leftist takeover of the court, does that make one or both of the others just give up and retire?

I have had similar thoughts in the past. If she was waiting for a woman president I guess that’s just too bad. Now she is in a race against time. It cannot please her that her successor will most likely be appointed by Trump but I don’t mind at all.
One approach to this is to concede that she is hale, hearty and in excellent shape. Therefore liberals do not need to worry about any potential replacement because Donald Trump will not be naming her replacement! She is so healthy that she will outlive both Trump and Pence and can retire comfortably when Malia or Sasha can name her replacement. After you tell the liberals that, then you can tell them to STFU.

At 76 and in pretty good health I loook to clint. He made a movie when he was 86. My motto is “think 90”.
A week or so ago I was speaking with two Red Cross volunteers that came to install smoke alarms and told them that. One of them just smiled and said I’m 86. I ‘m thinking at least 95.
RBG is likely to live into her 90’s. The question becomes does she want to work more or less full time.
