Fired for putting hands on a customer.
Is a thief considered a customer?
He should sue them.
He din do nuffin! How else he s’pose to get his money?
It’s a new deep discount marketing strategy. Instead of “buy one get one free” it’s “take one get one free”.
Back in the 80’s - would get fired as was contrary to insurance policy. Insurance would rather pay loss inventory than risk death or injury claim.
Worked retail back in the day
Another sports store I won’t be shopping in.
Shame on you, Academy.
The suspect also robbed a Cash America Pawn shop earlier that day and stole 2 guns. The whole PC nonsense of Academy Sports is rubbish. May they circle the drain like Dick’s Sports for banning guns in their stores because they caved in to leftists.
Like Dicks, its time to boycott Academy. I still boycott auto zone for firing an employee who saw a robbery through the glass and retrieved a shotgun from his car and ended the threat. He too was fired. This was years ago.
What ever on earth for? Any body know? Surely it hasn’t anything to do with the robber......
My company has no job for him but hopefully he’s finding lots of offers coming his way.
Thank a lawyer.
I understand their concern about lawsuits, but I wonder if the Academy Sports Store (ASS) would face lawsuits if they let Mr. White (who isn’t) walk out with a gun, and then use it to kill a bunch of people?
customer - one that purchases a commodity or service
There is no evidence than Mr. Jason F. White purchased the merchandise in question. Therefore, Mr. White was not a customer at the time of the incident.
Mr. Dean Crouch was falsely accused by Academy Sports of placing his hands on the "customer" Mr. White, who was not a customer at the time.
Mr. Crouch needs a good attorney to sue Academy Sports.
Someone should set up a Gofundme or something so he doesn’t lose his house.
I second the post about patronizing local gun shops. Even the Socialist Republic of New York has enough to go around.
I’m surprised given Academy’s firearms protocols that he was able to get the gun away from the counter.
Must have been very busy.
Same effing irresponsible stores who then have antiAR or antiCarry policy blaming guns on liability but not their own inactions
The store owner chose poorly...poor will be an operative word.
Corporate Amerika. Full of SJ lawyers and HR nazis.
Steal guns from stores with stupid policies is the lesson here.
The employee did the right thing. Imagine if the thief had run out of the store with a weapon and killed a bunch of children at a bus stop?
