The House on Wednesday approved a GOP resolution expressing support for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which a growing number of Democrats say should be abolished.
Republicans had hoped to divide Democrats by bringing up the bill.
In a 244-35 vote, the measure was approved, with 18 Democrats voting to back ICE and 34 voting against the resolution. Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) was the only Republican to vote against the measure.
Another 133 Democrats voted "present," which their leadership had urged the rank-and-file to do.
They did so to protest what they argued was a political stunt designed to distract the media and the public from Congresss failure to enact immigration reforms, including efforts to address the ongoing separation of migrant families on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Political stunt or not, all of these Reps should be supporting ICE.
They’re unable to vote in favor of support of ICE???
Unbelievable......

“Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) was the only Republican to vote against the measure.”
I guess he wants some votes from the mostly illegal alien SW side of Grand Rapids?
I will seriously never get this guy.

Dems are always trying to discredit what republicans are doing by blowing it off.
They took a pounding and are embarrassed by it and are now doing damage control.
And the Senate Democrats shot it down. I’m actually McConnell brought it up for a vote.
And what if the idiot Amash who voted no
Good. Make them show themselves.
Yes, get them on record.

This is exquisite rope-a-dope -- they can't vote No, because that would destroy them nationally, and they can't vote yes, because some of the local races turn on the, uh, non-local races. So, they vote "present", which is a dead giveaway, and everyone knows what it really means -- it means they want ICE abolished, but don't dare say so, orrrr, they want ICE not to be abolished, but don't dare say so. Democretins. Thanks bryan999.
