An accident has occurred aboard a Aeromexico flight in Mexico, according to the airline.
Aeromexico wrote on Twitter Wednesday just after 5 p.m. ET that it was aware of an "accident" in the northwest Mexican state of Durango. Flight #2431 was involved in the accident, according to the airline.
The type of plane used on flight #2431 -- the Embraer 190 -- has a capacity of about 100 passengers, the airline wrote on Twitter.

Durango-Mexico City. The CNN Spanish video says that it “fell” from the sky. My Spanish isn’t very good, but I got that much.

Looks survivable, but maybe not by everyone.

yeah, “incident” has been downgraded. It’s a crash. God help the survivors and family members...

Looks close to the airport and the runway is wet. My guess is it ran off the runway. I hope the people got off before it caught fire.

Looks like the plane is more or less in one piece. The Pilots must have had some control. Looks like possibly some might have been able to survive.

I've flown some funky airlines in my day including Air Tanzania and Air Malawi...but I've never flown AeroMexico.
And I never,ever, will.

Per my above link, reporting is the plane crashed right after take off, so it still had a full load of fuel. The fire looks like it was pretty bad.

They are mentioning in one report that survivors walked to the highway.
It does look like no one opened the right rear door. Because of the fire damage, I can’t tell if the overwing window(only one window exit on each side) was open or the right front door.

Flew on this model plane from Ontario CA to Texas a few years back. 2/2 Seating. It was my buddies first ever flight at age 38. He was $hitting bricks. Especially when I needled him on take off that we we're running out of runway....this bird should be off the ground by now.
