Have Americans turned against the Second Amendment? “The center has shifted on this issue,” one source in Roll Call’s report tells Nathan Gonzales, but has the center really shifted on gun control? It depends on the view, apparently. Gonzales reports that a new poll shows that Democrats have the upper hand in the gun-control debate, but this might be a trap:

Make that Blue Wave rise and flood out all those nasty Republicans. And then you can impeach Trump too and crown Hillary the winner nearly 2 years late.

Back in the summer of 2017, they should have sat down and picked two decent things to campaign upon. At present, there is no real message, and any national efforts are just a joke.
Campaign on the idea that you and your family should be completely defenseless and exposed to harm.

They’re already running on anti-gun platforms! Look at all of the Democrats in the Florida governor’s race. Every last one of them is proposing gun control with some even espousing an executive order to ban “assault weapons.”

If the Dems ran on what they actually have in mind they’d get 20% of the vote. Deceit is what it’s all about, and that starts with the polls.

I don’t think there is any issue, except perhaps abortion, that more depends on the context and wording of the question.
Even here in the People’s Republic of California amongst liberal friends and family I know of no one who thinks all guns should be taken away. On the other hand, even as someone who considers themselves well to the extreme of the NRA or GOA in terms of RKBA, I know people who simply should *NOT* have a gun or access to one, and a bunch of others who sure as hell shouldn’t have one without some verified training, at least if I or my family were within range.
I could word a survey to get you any result you wanted, indeed the hard part of polling is to actually create and ask truly neutral questions.

Sure, the big Senate races are in Florida, Missouri, West Virginia, North Dakota, Arizona, Nevada, Tennessee, Montana, Indiana.
Have all the Democrats run on gun control, it’s a sure winner. I can picture Heidi Heitkamp’s campaign commercial now: “I vow to stand with leader Chuck Schumer and vote for his gun control package.”
I hope every anti-gunner is subjected to lawless behavior from bad guys.
