Shortened title.

Full title: New Mexico Judge Accuses Prosecutors of Anti-Muslim Bias in Her Decision to Release Dangerous Jihadists Running Islamic Terror Camp

Muslim Siraj Ibn Wahhaj was arrested earlier this month at a terrorist compound in New Mexico.

Wahhaj was training children to commit mass shootings at US schools.

Siraj ibn Wahhaj is the son of a Brooklyn imam who was named as a possible co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

New Mexico police entered a dangerous Islamist terrorist camp in New Mexico this month after they grew tired of FBI stalling.

Judge Backus from the transcript:

“The defendants are apparently of the Muslim faith. The Court was asked by the State to make a finding of dangerousness and a finding of no conditions of release could ensure the safety of the community. The State apparently expected the court to take the individuals’ faith into account in making such a determination. The Court has never been asked to take any other person’s faith into account in making a determination of dangerousness. The Court is not aware of any law that allows the Court to take a person’s faith into consideration in making a dangerousness determination.”

Training kids to kill other kids? No danger in that.

Signature bond I thought I saw. This judge needs to be removed from the bench, disbarred and placed behind bars.

I think that releasing this guy on bail was wrong regardless.

Would the ignorant, PC muddled, should be removed from office, judge have granted bail to a Mormon fundamentalist for the same thing this guy was doing?

Of course not. She gave him special treatment to show that she isn’t an intolerant Republican. This was a virtue signaling move pure and simple.

Judge Sarah Backus is an elected Democrat.

She has a history of issuing low bail to violent offenders.

This is speculation, but one almost wonders if she'd LIKE to see these people execute a school shooting or five.... to expedite the Democrat Dream of gun bans.

You are correct about the signature bond. However, she's elected (Democrat, of course).

FBI stalling.

Sounds like they may have been part of the "insurance policy".

Judge Sarah Backus is an elected Democrat.

Originally appointed to office by the chair of the Republican Governors Association. Uniparty all the way!

I guess the bit about kidnapping and training kids to kill other kids wasn’t a significant factor to the judge.

I guess “terrorist compound” is too far of a reach for this judge. This is insanity.

The only hope I have in understanding this is that the NM police jumped the shark and the Feds were watching and gathering intel on this little group. If releasing them means they scurry back to their patrons we could learn something. I have my doubts.
