Less time than the intercontinental railroad.

I don’t know.

Admittedly I have a cataract in my left eye, so things are a bit fuzzy these days.

I was comparing it to the cow fence in the photo.

I would be shocked if that fence is even 20 feet high.

But maybe I’m wrong.

Yes, it does.

I’d guess it’s about 15 feet high at the most.

“That does not look like thirty feet to me.”

These are 18 foot bollards. Most people who fall from that height will walk away from it, virtually none would die from it.

30 foot bollards, like those going into Calexico, CA, are the really dangerous ones. That is where the guy recently broke both his femurs, and injured his back. 30 feet is the height from which about half the people who fall will die.

Most traffic cones are 28” high, and I only count between 7 and 8 cones worth of height in that fence.

Well, then we need 30 foot tall bollards, not 18 foot.

The photo is from fronterasdesk.org which doesn’t specifically say it is the wall in question.
A stock photo they’ve used in other articles.

monsoon: a seasonal prevailing wind in the region of South and Southeast Asia, blowing from the southwest between May and September and bringing rain

I hope they are building it in the right place.

Tie rope 1 to a post, throw the other end over. Throw rope 2 over, catch end through posts and tie to one of them. Climb rope 2 until you get to top. Use rope 1 to climb down other side.

OK, maybe I’m being negative...but the way it looks to me a simple grappling hook would make it very easy to go over the top. I would rather they used a large rounded top that a grappling hook can’t grasp onto. I guess this is better than nothing but I just do not think it will stop them.

Exactly. I don’t get how this stops much. I guess it stops a bunch of kids from crossing over, but an adult...

“Environmentalists are suing over the project.”

Environmentalists concerned over the plight of the soon to be endangered illegal invader?
