Free Republic is not a for-profit site. The conservative alternatives would be for-profit. Think about Rush Limbaugh’s show. Does somebody fund it?

I'm no tech expert but we have Free Republic. Couldn't someone start a Facebook and Twitter type websites that are friendly to Conservatives?

Free Republic is the 3,748th most popular website in America.

Why should conservative voices be banished to internet wastelands where we only have the choir to preach to while liberal voices are freely allowed to have their voices heard on Twitter (7th most popular website in America), Facebook (3rd most popular website in America), and Youtube (2nd most popular website in America)?

If these sites want the "Safe Harbor" protection that the DMCA offers them as platforms, they need to behave as platforms, and not as publishers. This means no censoring of speech.

Geriatric FReepers yelling at clouds fail to comprehend the power of modern social media.

Do you ever wonder why it is that Donald Trump posts on Twitter and not here?

Oh, and they're laying the groundwork to come after Free Republic (and every site just like this one) for "hate speech" violations but people like you aren't paying attention and don't even see it happening. "Eh ? Who cares" was what I believe you said.

“Anyone who succeeds in creating a conservative alternative will become wealthy.”

Yes they will. When they sell their company to a media conglomerate. Hence the problem. Youtube used to be the greatest thing since sliced bread before G bought them out.

These conglomerates do not “create content”. They rely on others and buy up successes.

There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that google processes search results to make them come out the way they want. There is no disputing it. They can do it manually, or let their programs analyze the words and whether they support the left/democrats/nihilism/*slam/abortion/gay $hit/trans $hit/socialism/reparations/etc or not.

This is true, and there is no reasonable way to deny it.

There is no freedom of speech in the USA. Hasn’t been for a long time.

An eye-opening, fact-filled article about how the socialist left owns the internet. If an ideology OWNS google, twitter, facebook and youtube, there is no platform that can or will reach the majority of the under-30 demographic that receives 100% of their “news” from these sources.

The search results is a big problem, but this went beyond that.

Well, the Google representative suggested, maybe I could bracket the video with a message saying these words do not represent the views of my channel or of most people in the country.

It certainly represents the views of most of the most heavily-armed people in country...

Brief, succinct and perfectly said.

How about a conservative freeze on ALL platforms for one week? Something like that, to get their attention? “Ooooh, stocks are falling.” Might be a good wakeup call.

The problem is that the people running these companies are actually prepared to sacrifice some profit to advance their politics. They're really violating their fiduciary duty to the stock holders at times. That's one reason it wouldn't work.

Because of Google’s terms of service, they can do just about anything and do not have to justify anything.

They can change their terms of service anytime, for virtually any reason, and you have no legal recourse.
