Right! It’s a trend like falling in love with a Monkee circa 1968. A sick trend but a trend nonetheless. With this sick modern attitude, doctors would have told Karen Carpenter: “You’re right, you do look fat!”

When was in my teens a lot of girls were desperate to look like that model Twiggy whose photo was everywhere, starving themselves to do so-I lived in W. Texas ranch country-but we still all had a TV and you could buy teen fan magazines in the grocery store in town 20 miles away-that fad was history before I was 20...

Exactly. You perfectly capture the travesty & harm being done to impressionable (stubborn!) adolescents, even now toddlers. Mass hysteria, transtrenders.
