Rod Rosenstein made the decision to turn over the Michael Cohen case to attorneys in the Southern District of New York. Rosenstein did this to ensure that the witch hunt against President Trump continued if President Trump shut down the junk Mueller investigation.
The US attorney Trump appointed for that outpost, Geoffrey Berman, reportedly was ordered to recuse himself by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, leaving the office staffed mostly by holdovers from Preet Bharara’s tenure.

Well yes. On several occasions Jeff Sessions has assured us of his full confidence in Rosenstein.
They couldn’t “kill” (figuratively) the Presidency with their initial post-election shots, but they now know that the lion is awake and angry, and it is now “do or die,” so to speak, for the whole corrupt lot of them before the lion destroys their exposed asses, which includes Rosenstein’s sorry hiney.
Too bad they didn’t go after Hillary with such zeal. Equal justice under the law...

I’ve heard that Sessions has insisted that he will no allow the investigation to be influenced by politics.
I guess this shows that the Attorney General coul;d order Rosenweassle and Mueller to recuse themselves for reason also.
That’s IF we had an Attorney General interested in pursuing truth and justice instead of roadblocking investigation into democrat criminality and abetting the persecution of president Trump and his associates.
Every Q tard recused themselves the minute they agreed to sit back and trust the plan.

I think the division is that mueller gets the Russia stuff, and everything else goes to whatever US Attorney by geography.
I guess that means Rosenstein didn’t believe the Steele dossier entries on Cohen.
So why did he sign a FISA warrant based on the Dossier for Carter Page ?
Rosenstein is a politically corrupt DOJ AAG, period. A DOJ ethics panel should be looking very deeply into the way he has operated over the years, and if they are honest, recommend that he be fired immediately.
I’ve never seen such corruption in my life and I’ve been around DC/govt off and on for over 50 years. I’ve also never seen such cowardice on the part of a Republican Senator/AG as I see in Sessions.
If he is doing something under the covers re investigations, it is now too late for them to be of any value. time of Jeff to retire to his tobacco farm in Alabama and let a real professional take over DOJ.
His excuse was that it was basically the umpteenth time that it had been submitted and attested to by DOJ personnel.
