Trump Hits Back on Union Leader in Labor Day Tweets

President Trump on Monday slammed AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka over comments he made over the weekend, saying it’s easy to see why unions are doing so terribly.

“Richard Trumka, the head of the AFL-CIO, represented his union poorly on television this weekend,” the president tweeted. “Some of the things he said were so against the working men and women of our country, and the success of the U.S. itself, that it is easy to see why unions are doing so poorly. A Dem!”

Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 3, 2018

Trumka had argued on "Fox News Sunday" that President Trump has done more harm to workers than good.

“Unfortunately, to date, the things that he has done to hurt workers outpace what he’s done to help workers,” Trumka said.

“He hasn’t come up with an infrastructure program that could put a lot of us back to work," he continued. "He overturned a regulation that would deny 5 million overtime that they would’ve had. He overturned some health and safety regulations that will hurt us on the job.”

He added: “We said when [Trump] was elected that when he did something good for workers, we’d support him. When he did something bad for workers, we’d oppose him.”

Fox News host Chris Wallace pushed back and brought up the current state of the economy and the unemployment rate, arguing that Trump deserves credit.

“Those are good, but wages have been down since the first of the year,” Trumka countered. “Gas prices have been up since the first year. So overall, workers aren’t doing as well.”

Not surprisingly, Trump's message on Labor Day was just the opposite.

"Happy Labor Day! Our country is doing better than ever before with unemployment setting record lows. The U.S. has tremendous upside potential as we go about fixing some of the worst Trade Deals ever made by any country in the world. Big progress being made!"

He added: "The Worker in America is doing better than ever before. Celebrate Labor Day!"

I can only wonder what his lines where from 2009-2016.

Actually, I likely wont.

Add in the sales taxes AND property taxes where I am.

Yes, I know Texas, or at least AFAIK, doesn’t have the property taxes. Many places or all?

I remember him clear back in the Clinton years.

Nothing has changed.

Trump is now at the point where he is being acknowledged as a true trade guru, but if you understand the Art of the Deal, Mr. Trump has not overlooked dealing with Unions just as he views the EU, Russia, China or Korea.... They too will find out being “Dem”witted leftists or as I would call Unions a tool of Communism, sparks the ire of many an American.
