The Germans Will Never Learn

German foreign minister Heiko Maas of the German Social Democratic Party believes that Europe must unite to form a "counterweight" to the United States when it "crosses the line" in its dealings with Germany. Maas believes that Germany and France should forge a stronger bond in order to diminish American freedom of action – whether it be in imposing sanctions on Iran (which would harm European business interests) or in forcibly renegotiating longstanding (bad) deals with Europe (specifically, Germany) on trade and mutual defense.

But the idea that Germany, France, or any other European country could strengthen the fraying unity within the European Union – in order to "balance" against the United States, no less – is an absurdity that only a European liberal like Maas could countenance. Europe is not a united entity, and it will never act as a counterweight to the United States (at least not by itself). This is especially true of the European Union.

The new German invention "Bürger Extractor" will extract citizens from Germany to be replaced by refugees.

Just as they suppose they can hold two opposing thoughts: gay marriage, gay rights, transgenderism and islamics in one little country.

Yes, I think the best time for the EU to become a world power is right after the EU’s third-most-populous country, with the EU’s second-largest economy and its most powerful military, just voted to leave.

Brilliant in so many things, the Germans cannot seem to nail down wisdom.

Also, doesn’t he realize that for Europe to become a “counterweight” to the US, Europeans—Germans especially—would actually have to start paying for and serving in their own militaries again?

And I am sure Germany’s neighbors will just love seeing a re-armed, unified, NATO-free Germany across the border.

Germany is genetically weak.

Germans will be replaced by a stronger and more agile race.

That Darwinian action resulting from the genetic destruction of massive male deaths in two world wars is currently in process.

Ditto Russia

Ditto France

Ditto (maybe) UK

Actually, Trump went to the organizational chart and figured out....none of the 28 members of the EU have any real control over their trade business. It’s all tied into a bundle now and run by the EU. So Trump bypassed Merkel, Macron and the rest....just saying OK, EU...let’s have a chat.

The tariff business? It’s just about settled and the EU will operate with apparently no tariffs against the US, with the same doorway for the EU. Germany? It has virtually NO say on the matter.

What’ll happen now, as the news media starts to reflect upon this...Berlin has given over most of it’s power to the EU, and there is almost no reason to vote in German national elections anymore. The EU is the power and seat of government now.

“... Germany and France should forge a stronger bond...”

Ignoring the inconvenient fact that they’ve been at each other’s throats for a millennium.

That worked so well the last time Germany and France (and the rest of Europe) were “united” that it took the combined armies of the allies to dissolve the “union.”

Germany is genetically weak.

I believe the problem to be spiritual, not genetic--and it affects most of Europe and much of the rest of the West.

Would someone please tell me why there is still a NATO? Why are we subsidizing Germany’s defense? If they want to commit suicide by Islam, that is their problem and do business with Russia or any other country, then close US bases in Germany and let them deal with their own defense.

This has been the German elites’ plan for a long time. Witness Gerhard Schroeder trying to unite Europe against America in 2003. All he accomplished of course was to fracture Europe even more. Many others on the continent don’t want to be dominated by Germany....which is what calls for a united Europe actually mean.
