To me this is understandable since both ISIS and Turkey are Sunni Muslims.
The Sunni enemies would be us Kafirs, Assad the Alawite, and the Iranian Shias, both of which would be considered Muslim heretics by the Sunnis. -Tom
Hey, Tex! Just read that Kurd forces killed 18 Syrian Forces in #Qamishly.
Clashes between Kurdish forces and regime fighters in the divided northeastern city of Qamishli killed 18 combatants Saturday, the Kurdish forces and a war monitor said.
The rare flare-up in the Kurdish-majority city near the Turkish border saw 11 regime fighters and seven Kurds killed, the Kurdish security forces known as Asayesh said in a statement.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based war monitor, reported the same death toll for the fighting near a Kurdish checkpoint in the city.
The Asayesh said a regime “patrol opened fire on our forces with light and medium weapons, causing our forces to respond to this violation, which killed 11 regime fighters... and seven of our comrades”.

Idlib is getting pounded by Russia (+Syria)
If True—Turkey must be banned from NATO. Now we have a place to bomb when a terrorist attack comes. USA should pull out of Turkey NOW. No more aid or help. Let Putin have the place. Hagia Sophia should be reopened as a cathedral for the Orthodox Faith! A New Byzantium!
Report is incorrect. It was not Syrian Forces that were killed.
Syrian Military and Kurds have tried to avoid direct conflicts.
Barack Hussein Obama aka Barry Soetoro aka Sobarkah supported, armed, trained and funded ISIS and Al Queda terrorist organizations.
It was treason and nothing will be done about it.
AFP has not credited the source of the information. The article is wrong. There was a conflict, but not with SAA.
Assad and Saddam were both Baath Party members. Saddam was Sunni. Assad is Shia of a sort.
It is not just simply Shia vs Sunni and both against Kafirs.
Kurds are a mixture of Shia and Sunni. In Iraq they were 75% Sunni and 25% Shia. Until Iran helped them remove ISIS. Now the mix is higher in Shia.
In Syria the Kurds are much wider mix. Some are Muslim, some Christian, some atheist. Numbers vary widely by location. All Kurds in Northern Syria are Secular.
Turkey is almost all Sunni. And 98% Muslim. Many Kurds are Muslim to prevent being Massacred.
I have maps showing religious mix by towns in Iraq and in Syria. Interesting to look at.
Not Simple.
I don’t believe it is that solidified. More of this will be exposed soon.
ISIS was formed form elements of Saddam’s military.
I despise Obozo. He supported Jihadi’s in Syria heavily after the overthrow of Gadaffi. I’ve seen no proof of support directly of ISIS. He did support some of al Qaeda in Syria.
Turkey still supports Nusra (al-Qaeda) and ISIS leftovers.
Please read, is closer to correct.
Clashes in Qamishlo: 13 regime soldiers dead

Home Security Forces, conflict over conscription.
We better understand we are getting involved in religious warfare. It is further complicated by the great amount of Muslim heretics who are in the mix. These heretics both Shia and Sunni don't follow the basics of the religion as laid out by Allah in the Koran, and Muhammad in the Hadiths .
ISIS , al Qaeda and the Taliban seem to grasp the fundamentals of Islam.
It is a complicated mess over there but we should realize we are involved with a religious motivated plan to undermine and conquer us. -Tom
None of the Kurds are Islamists.
Iran (Shia) and Turkey (Sunni) are the problem children. The lines are being drawn by forces in the Middle East based upon support for or opposition to Islamist Terrorists.
Egyptian President Sisi met with General Votel in Cairo today. The discussion was expanded military cooperation between US and Egypt and any other cooperation possible. I fully expect good results from that.
There are others like President Sisi that are already heavily on board against the Terrorists.
The effect of Islamist Terrorism is global. We cannot avoid being affected by it. Nor can the EU.
Trillions of dollars strong; decades in the making; President Eisenhower spoke of this complex. Leviathan is mighty. Mere man will not recover from his accumulated powers.
1 Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook
or press down his tongue with a cord?
2 Can you put a rope in his nose
or pierce his jaw with a hook?
...
8 Lay your hands on him;
remember the battleyou will not do it again!
9 Behold, the hope of a man is false;
he is laid low even at the sight of him.
10 No one is so fierce that he dares to stir him up.
Who then is he who can stand before me?
11 Who has first given to me, that I should repay him?
Whatever is under the whole heaven is mine.
12 I will not keep silence concerning his limbs,
or his mighty strength, or his goodly frame.
When the Kurds sealed the border between Syria and Turkey they stopped the trade of ISIS oil for weapons that was being run by the Endocon Klan.
The Turks then invaded and occupied Northern Syria and are now suppling and protecting ISIS in Idlib.
So much for NATO , eh Turkey?
Artical states...Turkish states relationship with ISIS... and stated that attacks in Europe have been in agreement with Turkey.
Not the least bit surprised. He’s got 12 ‘so called’ observation posts in Idlib just to keep his foothold there. He’s been working hand in glove with Isis and other terrorist groups for years now, while hiding behind the cover of Nato.
I wouldn’t put any thing past Erdogan doing....his history is one of supporting and funding Isis and other terrorist groups for years. He’s one ‘evil’ beast to say the least.
....”they made it clear they were not interested in protecting the Jihadis in Idlib, which Erdogan wanted to protect”.....
Yes indeed. Erdogan has the most to gain if there is a cease fire...so he opposed the others three.....thus it would ‘appear’ he is standing with the US/Nato when in fact he doesnt want to see a Kurdish-controlled area rise along his border.
Should get pounded. What the news isn’t saying is how for weeks they opened up a ‘get out of dodge’ exit way for those who wanted and could leave Idib..... The news would rather just call it a blood bath instead.
