As others have pointed out, the facts aren't what matters most in "the court of public opinion."
Do you know why Kellyanne Conway was the one who made the public announcement this morning indicating that this accuser will be heard? Because she's a pollster by profession, and she knows damn well what the Republicans are up against. I'm sure her conversation with President Trump this morning went something like this:
"It doesn't matter if she's lying her ass off, Mr. President. She has to be treated with kid gloves -- because if she isn't, the Republican Party will face a bloodbath in November as suburban women run away from us."
If you have any doubt about that, just ask yourself why a brash, confident player like Donald Trump has been so low-key on this today ... not even a single innocuous tweet.
