Airport expected to reopen in sections. Student in custody and is being questioned.

They stuck "Orlando" in the airport name a few years ago which we locals find confusing, but this is Melbourne Florida in Brevard County on Florida's Space Coast. Florida Institute of Technology runs a flight school out of that airport.

Years ago I did an Army Reserve summer camp at what was then Camp Drum,NY which isn't far from the town (city?) of Watertown.In or near Watertown is "Watertown International Airport".Presumably the word international is included because it's about 10 miles from the Canadian border.

I heard about this on network radio news. I did not hear the word “pilot.” Did I just miss it? Student PILOT is a lot different than Student. I thought maybe it was a new code word for who knows what.

My wife told me about this earlier today. I live in the area and I told her, only hearing that something had happened, that it was probably a Muslim student from FIT. She said that he was from Trinidad. I said that he is still probably a Muslim. There are many there. Ding ding ding. Sad to say the first thought in these situations happens to be the correct one.
