WILTON — The owner of the limousine that crashed in Schoharie, killing 18 people on board and two pedestrians, is a former FBI informant who testified in two high-profile terrorism cases, a state official confirmed Monday.

Shahed "Malik" Hussain owns Prestige Limousine in Wilton, the official said. The limousine company is being scrutinized as federal and state investigators try to determine what caused the crash.

I hate to think that the driver was screaming allah akbar as he was going 60 miles per hour through that stop sign.

Gee, surprise. And when normal citizens ask questions, it is a conspiracy. Oh well, just look away!

Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

These FBI informants seem to have a way of “going sour.”

The FBI doesn’t seem to make good judgement calls.

My first thought when I heard about “the worst transportation accident in ten years”.

TThe press can’t stop reporting on inspection records, etc. As bad as they no doubt were, the condition of the vehicle does not appear to have anything to do with this incident.

Sounds like Hussain was assassinated while driving the car with 18 passengers. At least thats what I resolve when reading the full article.

Well, now we know how a limo that failed inspection was still on the road.
It was allowed to continue on because the owner is a resource.

Looked like a country highway route that came to a sudden stop sign and 90 degree turn. Driver may have been just blowing along and blew through the intersection.

Or sabotage, now, I guess.

Following his arrest in December 2001, and while facing the prospect of a long prison term and eventual deportation to his native Pakistan, Hussain agreed to become an informant for the FBI

How many times do we learn that people who should have been deported are responsible for the deaths of American citizens and often do not respect our laws?

I'd guess that there aren't too many Eagle Scouts in their group of informants.

Sometimes, you need to dive into the cesspools to find out what's in them. Agents are unlikely to find the best and the brightest there,

Another foreigner who should have been deported, but instead our government allowed him to stay (in exchange for being a part of FBI stings) and this guy breaks our laws, has no respect for our laws (maintaining commercial vehicles) and now 20 are dead.

Was he a forced informant? Did his terror bosses figure it out, and give him some collateral damage to take with him to the 72 virgins?

Lisinicchia looks like an Italian name. I looked on whitepages and there were a number of Vincent, Anthony, Vinny, Carmen, Guiseppe, Carmelo, Joseph, names.

Yep - may have decided he had enough with the cooperation and it was time to end it - while taking a few out with him....seems the FBI has had some long-term involvement with a number of tragedies where innocent people die....wondered why the guy heading the Federal side of the investigation seemed so dang careful and orderly in his answers/non-answers....
