This is why I mind my own business. Unless the guy was obviously shady, or the kids looked under duress, I would have went my merry way. With social media today you will be immediately tar and feathered as a racist worldwide, with little recourse to prove otherwise. And there is always a SJW parent to happily see to it, as we see here with these kids’ father.

There are many viral videos these days of people claiming discrimination in videotaped incidents. Usually, the real story is that someone was just a busybody and race probably wasn’t a factor at all.
However, in this incident, the man makes a valid point. As someone stated above, he should’ve called 911 and reported a stalker.
It’s not about Georgia, though. Here in the Northeast, when out and around with my own children (half-black), sometimes people would question if/why I was with “these kids.” I was amused, but never offended.
However, I once knew a parent (white) who had the police called on him when he was out with his children (half-Filipino). Not sure whether race was a factor, but you never know.
There were a few times I should’ve called the police on people with kids in public. One incident in particular I wonder about to this day.
60 years ago a black man would have been questioned for being with a white woman.

Normal, polite people don't decide to follow and ask to talk to children being accompanied by another adult. In fact, I would suggest that if some guy came up to a woman and asked her if her kids were OK, and asked to talk to the children, that woman would be very annoyed. She might actually feel endangered, and react accordingly.
But who knows, you sound like the kind of person who likes being stopped by random people and questioned about what you are doing. Or maybe you are the kind of person that feels the need to but into other people's business.
It has nothing to do with "virtue signaling". Ask anyone who has had to deal with the situation faced by the man with two kids who did not look like him.

My wife is Japanese. I am Caucasian. You can see that in our children. Every now and again I see somebody checking us out, especially if I am somewhere with my adolescent daughter.
Nobody has ever called the police, perhaps because I’m so banged up that it’s obvious: if she couldn’t outrun me, she could probably kick my butt. Not a plausible crime scenario.
The lady may have became increasingly concerned if/when
she saw the kids acting nervous, not knowing or realizing that it was her actions that led to it.
