This is Orwellian: the Asian-American author of a New York Times column claims that ending discrimination against Asian-Americans in college admissions would do them "egregious harm."
It's not simply that The New York Times found an Asian-American willing to write a columnin the context of the lawsuit against Harvard supporting continued discrimination against Asian-Americans in college admissions. It is this line by Lisa Ko that is absolutely mind-boggling [emphasis added throughout]:
"Eliminating race as a consideration in admissions would cause egregious harm to people of color, including Asian-Americans."

They are all insane.
So ending discrimination against Asian-Americans would do them “egregious harm.”
Liberals: insane, or simply liars?

“”Eliminating race as a consideration in admissions would cause egregious harm to people of color, including Asian-Americans.””
I am totally confused by this statement. Is Lisa Ko saying that if race wasn’t a consideration, there would be egregious harm against people of color including Asian Americans, however, if race was a consideration, it would still be OK to discriminate against Asian Americans?
GUYS!!!!!
“1984” WAS A WARNING NOVEL!!!!
NOT AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL!!!!
Maybe she is not thinking of Chinese/Korean/Japanese/Indian Asians. Maybe she is thinking of Middle Eastern Asians.
Apologies: there is no video!
LOL: good one!
It’s hard to know what she meant, since she offered no supporting arguments in support of her assertion.
But it does seem that she is saying that Asian-Americans would be harmed by the elimination of discrimination against them!
Insane/Liars...the two are not mutually exclusive. Also, I’d add nitwit.

Progressivism: when we do something to you to do something for someone else it’s for your benefit too.
My guess:
Discriminating against Asian Americans in things like admissions preserves the systems whereby they can in other contexts discriminate against whites to benefit Asian Americans.
IOW: they should get preferences but they aren’t as high on the totem pole of those who deserve preferences. But they’re still in theory more-equal than whites.
Shameless Bolsheviks
Here’s my guess at what she’s saying: that if discrimination against Asian-Americans were ended, more of them would be admitted.
As a result, colleges wouldn’t have as many black or hispanic students, and that lack of “diversity” would somehow be harmful to the Asian-Americans’ educational experience.
Total BS, IMHO, but I think that’s what she’s saying, although she didn’t spell it out, probably because it would sound so ridiculous.
“I am totally confused by this statement.”
The reason you’re confused is because you’re looking at this through the spectrum of an intelligent person who thinks logically. You will never be able to understand a liberal’s thoughts. If you try too hard, your head will explode.
