Latest attempt by the "MSM" to tar and feather Republicans before the midterms. I'm sensing their desperation. Perhaps the oft-predicted blue wave is not materializing as they had hoped?

Atwater leveraged the issue of racea specialty for himby means of the infamous Willie Horton TV ad. We will overlook that it was brought up in the Primary by democrats.

Looks like a “tell,” a lot like the Witch’s campaign cancelling the fireworks display they’d scheduled for the night of the 2016 election.

Bush > Clinton > Bush > Clinton
That was the Deep State plan.
Hart was in the way.
To: seanmerc
Hart was a brilliant campaign organizer. He managed George McGovern’s campaign through the Democratic convention and beat the Dem establishment at ever turn. After the Dem convention the usual political hacks pushed Hart and his young campaign staff aside and took over.
Hart hired a young Pat Cadell as his pollster during the primaries and managed to position McGovern as a political maverick who was able to gain the support of both liberal Dems and blue collar workers. After the Dem convention the hacks had McGovern on platforms shaking hands with corrupt pols like Richard Daly, who McGovern and many Americans despised, and McGovern lost any credibility he had. McGovern would have been much better off sticking with Hart.

I wouldn’t be too worried; nobody reads the Atlantic, anyway. This much I do know, Gary Hart is NOT an honorable man. The husband of a close family friend was assigned to investigate him by the Security Division of the Pentagon. When he went to Harts office in Colorado, and asked the staff questions related to Donna Rice, Hart tried to destroy the man’s career, and almost succeeded, but by the grace of God, the man was exonerated, after 11 months. You don’t try to destroy someone’s career for asking questions about something that supposedly never happened.

This is laughable.

Atwater leveraged the issue of racea specialty for himby means of the infamous Willie Horton TV ad. The explicit message of the commercial was that, as governor of Massachusetts, Dukakis had been soft on crime by offering furloughs to convicted murderers; Horton ran away while on furlough and then committed new felonies, including rape. The implicit message was the menace posed by hulking, scowling black menlike the Willie Horton who was shown in the commercial...
How about the menace posed by murderers and rapists?
Anyway, Hart was the last Democrat who will ever be in trouble for having a girl on his lap.
Lord knows I've had enough girls on my lap - sometimes my wife and her sister!
...And that's why I'll never be a politician.
It's no job for a man who has ever had any fun.
Alas, Democrats can't be trusted on a boat. Not with a ship's wheel, not with a screwdriver, not with standing or running rigging, not with a chart or a radio or an EPIRB, and certainly not with a woman. Always better to leave them on the dock. They can, after all, be trusted to put the dock carts away and go home to complain online about reproductive rights and the patriarchal hegemony.
