President Trump has indicated that he will withdraw the United States from a 1987 treaty signed with the former Soviet Union aimed at limiting intermediate-range ballistic missiles.
Urged on by National Security Adviser John Bolton and others, the president believes that Russia has been cheating on the agreement, while the bulk of Chinas strategic missile arsenal falls within the range specified by the treaty (500 to 5,500 kilometers/310 to 3,417 miles).

The US signed this treaty when Reagan was President and the thought of a credible missile threat from China was hilarious joke. But China had an ace in the hole. There was this promising young politician from Arkansas who seemed very interested in being bought. So they bought him. And it paid handsomely, they got all sorts of rocket technology in return for the cash and they didn't even have to steal it.
If we ever lose a city to a Chinese missile, that's Bill Clinton's doing, 100%.
