TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Most Florida felons who have finished their sentences will be able to vote again in future elections.

Voters on Tuesday approved Amendment 4, which says that most felons will automatically have their voting rights restored when they complete their sentences or go on probation. The amendment exempts those convicted of sex offenses and murder.

Now you know why Trump has been pushing for prison reform. You may as well appeal to ex cons plus redemption is a good thing.

Unbelievable!

Stupid.

They banned greyhound racing up here, and resulted in the slaughter of thousands of greyhounds.

I know a number of people in Massachusetts who voted to ban greyhound racing while supporting candidates in favor of abortions. Tonight on ABC Radio, the commentator said that nationally more women voted in this election than any other in U.S. history based on exit polls. The next topic was “sexual harassment in the workplace” and other “women” concerns. It might be time to require 18 year old females to register for selective service. If males have to do it to secure college loans, then so should women. It may help to educate women at a young age that there is more to life than abortions, harassment and equal pay and perhaps that can convince some to vote for the R instead of the D. “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

The stupidity of my fellow Florida voters never ceases to amaze me. My fav amendment is #9 which states that no oil drilling will take place in Florida waters until the end of time and ALSO outlaws vaping in public buildings. That is currently passing at 68%. But the amendment increasing the homestead exemption which would have actually helped a large number of Florida homeowners is failing.

I was moving to FL and looking forward to attending greyhound racing, which I dearly miss here in MA, on a regular basis in my golden years.

Now I’m looking at Texas.

I think they should allow felon races and let greyhounds vote.

Probably should let the greyhounds vote and restore felons’ rights to run in dog races in Florida. ;-)

That’s wrong; it should be “apply to the court system after full sentence complete.”

Allow felons to vote? I am not in favor of that, because I feel that there is something basically wrong with people who commit crimes and get convicted. I don’t think they march to the same drummer, and I don’t think they should stand shoulder to shoulder with “normal” people in getting to decide representation and laws. How do you think these folks will vote on anything about incarceration, police, etc.?

I’d like to see Greyhounds race at Daytona packed full of felons, diesel fuel and ammonium nitrate.
