Republican groups in Arizona have filed suit against several of the state’s county recorders and the secretary of state arguing that different standards are being applied to the counting of some mail-in ballots that were dropped off at polling locations.

In those cases where the signature on file does not match the signature on the ballot, the county recorder may call the voter to verify if the person did in-fact sign the envelope containing the ballot.
The GOP suit argues state law allows this process of verification up to and including election day, but not after, and claims different counties are employing different methodologies.

I don’t get it. What COUNTING is there to do ? Don’t they stick their ballots in a machine and it counts the votes ?
Other than ‘provisional’ ballots, at the end of the day on NOV 6, all the machines should have a total count.
Do you mean you stuck it in the machine and it accepted and counted your ballot ?
Fox News is reporting, with video, how the slow count is going and saying it will be a few more days until all the ballots are counted.
Other than provisional ballots, shouldn't all the counting have been done by the 'machines' and finished the moment the last ballot was inserted at the end of the day on NOV. 6 ?
It is my understanding there are something like 500,000 more votes yet to be counted from primarily R districts... We will see.
No. Like 3/4 of Arizonans; I mailed in my ballot. There's a website through the official Arizona election section where I can see if they received my ballot and if it was accepted - meaning counted.
I agree all ballots should be counted on the day of the elections. "They", whoever they are, are saying hundreds of thousands of people dropped off their mail in ballots on election day rather than mail it in ahead of time or rather than voting at a booth. I'm not buying that malarkey.
