I’ll be the first to throw this out: in either house, the propriety of election of a member can be contested, and the body votes who to seat. If enough corruption can be shown, and the republicans have the guts, then the senate can vote to seat either candidate. This famously happened in the house, I think in Reagan’s time, though I haven’t been able to find the particulars this am
