The first hearing in CNN and Jim Acosta's federal lawsuit against President Trump and several top White House aides ended with the judge saying that he would rule on Thursday.

CNN and Acosta are alleging that the White House's suspension of his press pass violates the First and Fifth Amendments. Their lawyers are asking for a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction that would restore his pass right away. They also want the administration's action deemed unconstitutional. CNN and Acosta filed suit on Tuesday. The case was assigned to Judge Timothy J. Kelly, a Trump appointee.

I hope he throws the suit out of the court as frivolous with no merit.

How did this come to such a quick ruling?

About time Trump gets a friendly judge. It should be tossed out with a harsh reprimand to CNN and court costs.

Probably has hundreds of cases that are backlogged. Get the easy and high-profile ones out of the way first, then move on.

Friendly? Yes a Trump appointee but a judge appointed in Washington, D.C. is owned by the Deep State.

It going to be appealed no matter which side wins. It won’t be over tomorrow.

It is in D.C.

Have to wait to see if it was judge shopped.

Judge shopping is standard practice for these sort of political cases.

I love that this is going to blow up so spectacularly in CNN’s face. Since when was getting a PRESS PASS ever a First Amendment right? The wording is “congress shall make no law,” it doesn’t mention the president, the White House or the executive branch at all!

Someone should ask the bleeping judge if he would tolerate one iota of Acosta’s conduct before him (the judge) in the courtroom. OF COURSE he would not, judges are notoriously trigger-happy in citations for contempt, ejections from the courtroom etc. No POTUS should be (legally) required to have an Acosta-type disrupting White House events.

” Since when was getting a PRESS PASS ever a First Amendment right? “

Only in libtards minds, it is. Acostard is just acting like a petty child that he really is..

An appeal ain’t what CNN wants. They want a MANDATORY injunction, ordering Trump to let a specific person into his home/office right now. A quiet victory years down the road does nothing for them.

Did anyone get to the last sentence of this excerpt?

The case was assigned to Judge Timothy J. Kelly, a Trump appointee.

Remember that reporter during the Obama years who had the audacity to ask one question after a “no follow ups“ conference? The rest of the reporters there practically set upon him like wild dogs in a feeding frenzy. I don’t remember anyone championing legal action against The One for violating that fellows constitutional rights…

I’m sure he’ll wind up back at some point. I hope not because he’s using his position to promote the resistance.
