Fudge, a former CBC chair and mayor of Warrensville Heights, Ohio, who has served in Congress since 2008, said in an interview with HuffPost that Pelosi “has been a very good leader” but believes “it’s time for a new one.”
She also told the website that she believes Pelosi hasn’t been as strong enough of an advocate for African-Americans in Congress.
Fudge’s potential bid has split members of the Congressional Black Caucus, some of whom had privately encouraged Clyburn and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York, a rising star who is running for a lower level leadership position, to move up the ranks of Democratic leadership.
But many prominent members of the group, including Jeffries, Rep. Elijah Cummings from Maryland, the future chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, a civil rights icon, and Rep. Maxine Waters of California, the future chair of the House Financial Services Committee, have backed the California Democrat, who continues to meet with freshmen and undecided Democrats ahead of the caucus vote.

The fact that the meeting took place at all tells you this deal has all but been made, and it will be Speaker Pelosi, with Fudge packing in her highest kudos.
Compared to the vacuous Fudge, Pelosi looks like Maggie Thatcher.

Always with the tribalism, always with the affirmative action special treatment. Instead of saying “all Americans” or “all impoverished Americans”, her only expressed concern was “her people.”

Doesn’t really matter what Pelosi’s done for the blacks or not...she’s got big interest groups behind her as well as outsiders galore backing her. One little bitty black woman isn’t going to stand in the way wit the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Pelosi has to throw around and her political capital as well.
Only way she won’t be leader is if she decides not to be.
Pelosi will be speaker... after a bunch of pointless drama.

This may accelerate the war going on in the Left between rival victim groups. In the late ‘80’s an official in the Small Business Administration told me that the board that approved applications was 100% black male. They had only approved business plans by black males and had rejected all of the plans by black females. Other groups need not apply.
Pelosi is actually a good choice from the victim group perspective. She will pander equally whereas even if a victim group Speaker panders equally, she/he/it/MS/etc. will not be perceived by the other groups as pandering sufficiently to THEM. (There is even animosity between lesbians and transgenders. Go figure.)
