Bill Nelson concedes Florida Senate race to Rick Scott after hand recount
Washington Examiner ^ | 11/18/18

Incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., called Republican challenger Rick Scott on Sunday to concede their race, ending a protracted dispute between the rivals over the results of their tight election.

"I just spoke with Senator Bill Nelson, who graciously conceded, and I thanked him for his years of public service," Scott said via a statement of Nelson, who had been vying for a fourth term in office. "Now the campaign truly is behind us, and that's where we need to leave it. We must do what Americans have always done: come together for the good of our state and our country. My focus will not be on looking backward, but on doing exactly what I ran on: Making Washington Work."

Scott, Florida's current governor, was 10,033 votes ahead of Nelson after a Sunday deadline for a hand recount, according to state officials. The manual tabulation had been triggered by the closeness of Scott's slim vote count advantage over Scott following a machine recount, which concluded Thursday.

Dodged a bullet. Does this mean PDJT can tell Murkowski, Collins & Romney to pound sand?

Trouble is we got played. By focusing attention on this which Dems knew outcome already, we lost focus and allowed nearly 10 House seats get stolen in late counting. Stupid party strikes again

I just spoke with Senator Bill Nelson, who graciously conceded

Graciously? Graciously conceding would have been on the night of the elections results. Graciously would have been before all all of the badmouthing and posturing and lawsuits and the recounts.

Grudgingly is the correct word for Nelson's surrender, and he should have apologized for putting the state and Scott and the elections officials through the prolonged ordeal of the recounts.

No doubt, way after his surrender, Nelson and his minions will continue to bad-mouth Scott and to try to find fraud on the part of the Florida elections officials.

Democrats never go quietly nor graciously. It's not in their blood.

The Formaldehyde-pickled cadaver was NOT gracious in any way shape or form!!

He threw every BS lawsuit possible into the mix, trying to get existing election law thrown out. His fake “gracious” comments included thinly-veiled accusations of “voter suppression.” What a LYING SORE LOSER POS!

Goodbye, good riddance, and go to h*ll, Bill Nelson!!

Guess someone in DC came through with a lobbying job for the Democrat loser. It’s a tradition.

I’d say no, Senator Scott, we don’t need to leave the election behind us. Tell the new governor to spend the next 2 years cleaning up the crooked counties.

Still need Mississippi which suddenly isn’t as easy as first thought. I am glad it’s soon so she doesn’t open her mouth again.

The GOP lost when 42 House members chickened out after Pres. Trump took office and announced they would not run for re-election. This gave the Democrats two years to get Pelosi’s “ground game” of voter fraud in operation. It’s actually surprising that Republicans did not match Obama’s 2010 loss of 64 seals.

I didn’t waste a single emotion during the recount. Stayed away.

Now, we have 2 years to harden the election process to fraud attempts.

,,,,,,,”who graciously conceded, and I thanked him for his years of public service,”

Hogwash. I am pleased that Nelson lost, but something in my gut tells me not to trust Scott. We shall see.

Scott owes Trump.

Obama decimated the Democrat Party. Trump saved the GOP bacon in the Senate and statehouses.

Don't make me laugh.

If the Republicans had any intention of "hardening the election process" there would be a molecule of evidence of it.

There isn't.
