I remember the 96 campaign.

Bob Dole only campaigned like the last week week and a half, like he really wanted it. I was friging pissed because he spent so much time like he didnt want to win.

Dole ran because it was “his turn”.

He would appear on the Sunday talk shows and, all by himself, exude the confidence of a man simply awaiting his turn at the job. I don’t think that sort of confidence goes over well with a public who has never had “their turn.”

Trump campaigned, and still does, like every moment and audience counts. He may stumble, but he keeps moving and takes nothing for granted. He knows the votes are in the hands of the people even if the cheaters are in the pockets of others.
