What doesn’t get brought up...there were two tax increases. A mild one for gas-cars....a more hyped-up one for diesel cars. Well, more than 70-percent of the cars registered in France, are diesel. It’s something like 28-cents on a gallon of diesel that this added up to.
The effect on truck-drivers? Same story. In their case, they were going to pass the cost onto the consumer. So down the line, you were looking at grocery and food prices escalating by spring of 2019.
The enthusiasm of the police to enforce stability? I would suggest that they are also owning diesel cars and facing the same tax. They aren’t happy either.
