As for the disarmed citizenry, well...when the Allies marched into Paris in 1944, all kinds of small arms appeared in private hands even after four years of Nazi occupation. Who knows what could turn up now?

It is interesting that the Muslim population seems to have no involvement in the ongoing protests. Perhaps the tax does not impact on many of them in the same way it does the Yellow Vests.
