I honestly thought they would tax breathing first.

Hell, until recently our phone bills still reflected a tax to pay for the Spanish American war. And even THAT it was almost impossible to get rid of.

So the sheep will accept this tax just like they’ve accepted all the others. Especially in California.

I get unlimited minutes and texting from Consumer Cellular for 45 $ a mo. That’s a way around it.

It sounds like you would be taxed simply for having a cell phone, even if you never send text messages.

Lol, everyone will just resort to Whatsapp, LINE, and other internet based texting.

No problem. A keystroke tax is next. California regulators could require all devices to automatically report on a continuous basis, with the fees charged through your ISP account. Any consumer reaction can be diffused by blaming the evil tech companies for higher prices.

You can run cell based VPNs. What would happen then? I understand the keystroke tax, but even that can be run around with pirating and maybe voice commands? Then there’s the basic problem that the gov’t is keylogging credit card info etc and basically committing a crime.

Pandora’s box.

We should mass text people there every day just to get them to respond and lose money.

I just realized that the Carolinafornia DemoKKKratzi legislators aren't going to be bright enough to distinguish between outgoing and incoming text messages when they pass their "texting piracy" tax.

That means that we just have to get hold of phone numbers for KKKalifornia Lefties and text the heck out of them, as you said.

They won't even have to respond...

back about more than ten years ago, my plan billed for text messages received. The phone bill more than doubled because my daughter had a couple friends that kept sending her texts multiple times per day, even though she asked them not to.

Californians voted themselves a gas tax, so they might actually like this one too

It’s why we escaped Mexifornia

“We must realize, with every further confiscation of rights and freedoms in CA, they drive out more of their citizens. This is bad for the rest of the country. The disease of liberalism spreads when Californians move and vote.”

Conservatives would be leaving that environment, liberals would think it a utopia.

Kalifornia is so broke, they are desperately searching for anything and everything they can TAX and steal people’s money. Tax texts??? Try taxing the liberal’s tweets, social media posts, etc.!! That would drive liberals mad!!! I would bet they will one day tax every mile you drive and have a limit and if you go over that, they will double the tax. With so many cars and freeways in Kaliforniastan, I am really surprised that every 4 lane highway is not a toll road. The very best thing that ever happened to me is that I was not from that state!!! I thank God He did not put me in Kaliforniastan, NY, Mass, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Michigan, Chicago, Philly, etc. Liberal bastions and thankfully I live in the MOST conservative state in the Union, Alabama!!! AND, the 2d most Christian state. Mississippi is the 2d most Conservative and 1st Christian state in the Union. No wonder you find us next to each other. I fear for my friends in Georgia, simply because Atlanta is outgrowing the state, almost a state within a state, with ATL being a liberal bastion. Eventually ATL will out vote the rest of the state. Sad for the deep south if GA goes down. AZ, Tex, Fla, GA, are all in potential trouble in my humble opinion of eventually going down the drain, mostly because of Latinos moving into all those states, and liberals pouring in from the East. All soon to be as bad as Kaliforniastan. If you are conservative, come on down to Dixie, Alabama has 3.5% unemployment last I saw and several auto builders located in the state, good jobs there.

Really? Florida? Colorado? Texas? Arizona? No. The only liberals that aren't encouraged to move out of California are the poor ones that live off the state and collect benefits. All other taxpayers may think they love socialism. But they forget they are not part of the elite class and flee their own enslavement. Then they start their crybaby socialist activism voting again in their new home.

(I'm generalizing, so I am sure this is not the case for ALL those fleeing the likes of New york, Chicago and California._

That’s what I’m saying, you forget that there are many conservatives that are escaping. I would guess that’s the majority of the people leaving. The others see nothing wrong with the place, in fact they think it is the way things should be. Otherwise, as you say they wouldn’t vote to change a new state

Meh, I agree conservatives are fleeing. I fled CA almost 20 years ago. Still, like a drug addict, they know it’s bad but can’t stop themselves. It makes them feel good. They will migrate to easier living and lower costs and more freedom. But they can’t stop themselves from supporting self destruction when they vote. It makes them feel good. They just don’t realize that THEY were the problem in the festering poo-pile they helped create from whence they came.
