Isn’t it censorship to ban a black man from a public library?

What does the ALA have to say about prohibiting visitors who repeatedly make violent threats of harassment against library staffers at several branches?

My daughter is a librarian down south, in the Children's section. One day a homeless black man came in, exposed himself, urinated all over the carpet, walked out again, got away before 911 could respond. She quit that Big City branch the next week!😱

“also facing charges for crimes at libraries in the Midwest.”

What kind of crimes? Overdue library books?

Public libraries deal with a lot of homeless issues in urban areas. I have a friend who works at the Boston Public Library & she has some harrowing stories to tell.

I knew a librarian...a really nice, smart and well-intentioned woman who had dreams of running all sorts of programs to help black kids in her part of Brooklyn - who quit after one too many times when the kids called her “white b****””, spit on her and threatened her in the parking lot.

This comes from the (white) media and the uneducated blacks who are the prisoners of the teachers’ unions and just lap it up.

Seay had a confrontation at a library in Ferguson, Missouri, in August. Librarian Scott Bonner took to social media Friday to explain what happened.
“(Seay) was ranting because his wallet had been stolen. He had (perhaps paranoiac-ly) decided to blame library staff, and was loudly (and aggressively) asking us again and again to check the lost and found,” Bonner tweeted.
In another tweet, Bonner told what happened next: “I talked him down as I coaxed him to the door. I got him outside and on his way, and I was scared, and it was a long process.”

The situation didn't end there. “Shortly thereafter, he called the library, and made threats, that if the wallet wasn't found, he'd come after me. Expected, as I was the last one to deal with him,” he tweeted

Time to bring back vagrancy laws. In the olden days it was safe to go to the library. Now they are filled with homeless bums taking up all the chairs to sleep.

True....they don’t control their bathrooms any longer. I never go into that place anyway. No $4 coffee for me.

Mookie Betts had food delivered to the homeless hanging around the BPL——at 1:30 AM.

Copley Square used to be such a classy place.

The homeless are everywhere these days it seems. Boston, by & large, is still a safe & thriving city.

Not really funny. This guy is a cold blooded murderer. In the Midwest incidents he was aggressive and threatening ng. He finally committed the act he threatened

If he had been put down by the Ferguson police for being the violent predator that he is the reaction would have been the same as the Michael Brown incident. Only difference is that people of the white suburbs of Sacramento won’t be rioting in the streets.
