So behind every command entered is a human receiving that command, and then silently parsing it and executing it ?
We’re moving into 2019. Human beings know more about computing than this. This excuse may have worked in 1959 but not now.
They think we are idiots.
Only the government is supposed to get those links.
People will voluntarily put “Big Brother” devices in their homes, so everything audible (and with the next device, visible) can be transmitted and recorded at some unknown central facility??!!
1984 took awhile longer but Orwell was a prophet.
That’s what Alexa is for ,D’oh
It’s not a ‘bug’.......................
Alexa should be named Trojan Horse.
Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I heard phrases like:
“Huma, help me shred these files.”
“Huma, do you think we should whack Bernie?”
I never did figure out who it was.
The real problem is Amazon keeping...period. That’s all you need to know.
People who volunteer their DNA and happily put listening devices in their home baffle me.
I have no social media accounts and enjoy all the data breaches I read about.
Skynet is EVERYWHERE!
It is the very definition of extreme naivety for anyone to trust a system that can send signals from one’s house to some place (or more appropriately, places) where those signals are interpreted.
And given the demonstrated sleaze of Google and Amazon, one is asking for trouble.
Why anyone would agree to have one in their home confounds me.
Thank you, John Lovitz.
The human that made the error was the human that purchased and installed the Alexa in their home in the first place.
Someone gave us one for xmas last year, it’s still in the box.
No surprise, but wouldn’t it be more fun if there was a video camera, too?
Eating away at the usual notion of privacy, here voluntarily forfeited.
Now, the cat is out of the bag that all the government has to do is send one of those secret warrants to Amazon or Google, and the ferals will have a listening device in your home 24/7. It's bad enough with cellphones. This is crap, yet people fall for it over and over again.
Theyre working the bugs out. Pretty soon theyll be able to eavesdrop in total secrecy.
How long will be be before the government requires such devices in every home? (in the name of fighting terrorism)
