Just about everything you wrote about ETF’s are accurate, but you missed my point.

Prior to the ETF’s and funds I described people could short a stock, betting the price would go down. When enough people did that it could magnify the downward pressure on the security, at least for a time. Now it can easily be done with an entire index using the financial instruments mentioned.
