It is pretty amazing to me that people brought MAGA hats to the sandbox. Those are some dedicated Trump fans.
POTUS is COMMMANDER AND CHIEF. The Commander and Chief can sign any damn hat in the military he wants and it’s not politics. The Commander in Chief is exactly that, so too bad.
It would have been very cool that Commanders Call was a surprise from President Reagan, never happened for me.

Yet those “guidelines” were constantly ignored during the previous two administration’s with the so-called war veterans in uniform protesting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan when Bush was in office.
Then there were the ones taking part in the gay pride parades while in uniform while bathhouse barry was in office.

Exactly, in government you can’t appear to endorse one side or another on duty and bringing those hats is seen as endorsing Trump (who has declared his candidacy officially.
That being said, I’d gladly do 24 hours in the Brig for this and for Trump. Let the Leftists publicize that.

LOL yeah...but Obama’s visits to the troops were pretty infrequent iirc, and the troops were not crowding him for selfies or signed Hope shirts. Also iirc Obama’s Christmas troop visits were limited to troops stationed on Hawaii as a side trip to the several week golf vacation he took.
He is the Commander and Chief, and they can vote for him. And praise him. They can own MAGA hats. They just can’t campaign on duty. The media always gets this wrong. Solders and anyone else in public employment or offices holders, are people who have a right to their religion and their preferred candidates. It is expected that regular citizens do these jobs. And regular citizens have beliefs and political views.
Military rules can be changed. This is a sitting president, after all. This is not a law.
He’s the Commander in Chief! Just how can he break any rule or order?

my worry is officers getting political in uniform because of the power they have over men....enlisted men don’t have that sort power and the expectations are difrent....this was just showing love for the commander and chief there boss. and as long as there not trying to wear it as part of there uniform it is kin to asking a baseball player to sign there rookie card.....news idiot and talking head leave the solders alone.
