One or both needs to give in or compromise. Right now that doesn't look like it's going to happen.
From what I can tell Trump was attempting to negotiate. It seems to be the Democrats that are unwilling to even discuss a compromise.
A compromise among rational people: (1) We the people get $10 billion for the wall* and mandatory E-Verify for all employers regardless of size, with a mandatory ten-year prison term for the responsible officer for hiring an illegal alien if use of the E-Verify System would have disclosed the employee as illegal; (2) Pelosi gets some form of the Dream Act for illegal aliens who entered the Country prior to January 20, 2017. Unfortunately, Pelosi isn't rational.
*As we all know, government contracts are notorious for cost overruns, and if the estimate for the wall is $5 billion, you can bet it will cost $10 billion.
No need for Trump to compromise. He is correct. Pelosi is wrong.
