Senate and House leaders said Tuesday they will cancel the Martin Luther King Day recess unless there is a sudden resolution to the 25-day partial government shutdown, which appears unlikely given a breakdown in high-level talks.

Just a reminder that it's only January 15th, the Congress convened on January 3rd, and the Congress doesn't work on Mondays anyway!!

They don't need a friggin week or two weeks off!!

Whether there's a shutdown or not!!!

The reason legislatures convene in the winter is that there's nothing else to do. Take Monday off like the rest of us and get to work the rest of the wwek!

.. they will cancel the Martin Luther King Day recess ..

Which would be an excellent idea on its own, regardless this Rat orchestrated shutdown.

It's shameful that this country has relegated a paltry one day for public rememberance of laudable Presidents, yet enshrines an entire week for that plagiarizing fake 'doctor' creep.

If they didn’t keep doing boo-hoo articles everywhere I would not know it was going on.

“They don’t need a friggin week or two weeks off!!”

In my view, The House can take the next two years off! Then we can “repurpose” the Senate to deal exclusively with Presidential and Judicial Appointment Consent.
If the Senate were to fill all of Trump’s appointments, it would be more good work than they’ve been able to accomplish for decades.

Diary of a Legislative Body:
By Will Rogers

Tuesday – “Begin hearing from the rich.”

Tuesday Afternoon – “Decide to give the rich a chance to get richer.”

Wednesday – “Tax Wall Street stock sales.”

Thursday – “Get word from Wall Street:” “Lay off us or you will get no campaign contributions.”

Thursday – “Decide we are wrong about Wall Street.”

Friday – “Soak the little fellow.”

Saturday Morning – “Find out there is no little fellow. He has been soaked until he is drowned.”
Sunday – “Meditate.”

Next Week – “Same procedure, only more talk and

“Just think of the money we would save trying to heat that rotundra.”

Just think of the larger amounts to be saved by RIFing their staffs. The cheapest thing, sad to say, would be for us to pay them all to sit around and listen to music at home. Ergo, no heat for their offices either! But isn’t it awful that they are so awful, that we are having this kind of conversation regarding those whom we elected to “represent us!”

McConnell should adjourn. The House will disagree.

In the case of a disagreement about when to adjourn, THE PRESIDENT MAY ADJOURN CONGRESS TO A TIME AND PLACE OF HIS CHOOSING.

Boston U. Panel Finds Plagiarism by Dr. King
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS OCT. 11, 1991

A committee of scholars appointed by Boston University concluded today that the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. plagiarized passages in his dissertation for a doctoral degree at the university 36 years ago.

"There is no question," the committee said in a report to the university's provost, "but that Dr. King plagiarized in the dissertation by appropriating material from sources not explicitly credited in notes, or mistakenly credited, or credited generally and at some distance in the text from a close paraphrase or verbatim quotation."

Despite its finding, the committee said that "no thought should be given to the revocation of Dr. King's doctoral degree," an action that the panel said would serve no purpose.

Proof of an action that the panel of DemocRATS was & is protecting a DemocRAT(S).

Thanks for that cite, lest the unaware think the allegation merely right wing blasphemy of ‘St. Marty’.
