You'll hear Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) rejecting President Trump's border security proposals these days, but about a decade ago, she was singing a different tune.
During her 2008 campaign for Congress, Gillibrand bragged in a mailer how she had called for the deportations of illegal immigrants. The ad also highlighted her opposition to illegals getting drivers licenses, a boost in the number of border agents, fines on companies who hired illegal immigrants, expanding the E-Verify programs for employers, and other now-unheard-of policy stances from a Democrat.

CNN's Jake Tapper asked her to please explain her change of heart. Considering that Gillibrand is now in the business of calling Trump's policies "racist," he wondered whether those policies were racist when she supported them.

"They certainly weren't empathetic and they were not kind," Gillibrand said of her past comments. "And I did not think about suffering in other people's lives."
Since then, she explained, she's tried to correct her approach to immigration by traveling throughout New York to meet with families affected by such policies. She also met with immigration advocates and afterwards the senator "realized" that the things she had said were unacceptable. She said from now on she'd "fight" for families who are suffering in her state.
I predict Gillibrand will have to answer these questions about her flip-flopping stance on immigration again as her campaign for president gets underway.

Isn’t calling her on it a bit sexist? Gonna be a fun cat fight as the Dem field gets overloaded with these mangy felines.
Coupled with the facts that she is not a natural born citizen as considered by the founders. She’s an anchor baby.
Hillary. Look for her to come back in after everyone is bashed.
It will be a gruesome sight if Hillary does run again; the tripping, stumbling and generally bizarre behavior.
Gillibrand is not a Soros/Podesta-Approved Candidate.
Even Daily Kos removed her from the weekly straw polling today.
Exactly. And this is pre-emptive damage control so they can say: “I’ve already addressed those comments; they don’t reflect my current thinking and I’m hear to substantively discuss the issues.” Gag me.
Gillibrand is a lying opportunist, just like her Mother who slept with the Mayor of Albany NY to obtain leverage which she used to launch Silly Gilly’s career in politics.
When she first ran in upstate NY she BRAGGED in her campaign how she was a staunch defender of gun rights, in fact she kept her shotguns ring under her bed.
She has been such a lying flip flopper that anyone debating her will make her look silly.
She will never get more than 5%.
Silly Gilly went after Bill Clintoon, Hillary has put out the political hit on her.
CNN has already chosen #HorizontalHarris.

"So - does Willie Brown have any videotape showing him blowing a load of his Manly Essence in your face - that could be used for blackmail purposes by the Russians?"
Let's just start calling out the Lying Media about its presidential choice.
