March/April is max tourist season in DC - Cherry Blossoms. Also, this effectively neuters the Resistance takeover of the House - their constituents will not be served by this.

Shut them down. This is a good time to downsize government.

Trump’s “going to the mattresses.” Good; he’s a fighter.

Trump should

1 declare a soe and allocate money for the uscg

2 wait 24 hours

3 declare a state of emergency and allocate money for the wall

4 ifnore any of the courts if they challenge him

Bet that is a short and inconsequential list. Congress did this to themselves, approving most of the budget in advance and only tying a few token departments and agencies to the wall. No one notices, no one cares. Leave them mostly shut down. Fire most of these workers, then apply the same scrutiny to all government departments and agencies.

The democrats have only been in office for 3 weeks now, and they are already destroying the country.

Or put another way, they’ve already been in office almost 3 weeks, and have accomplished exactly nothing.

Go for it! Most “civil servants” couldn’t even get a job in the real world, and certainly the heads of departments or agencies are for the most part political hacks who have only made their living by clinging to the Democratic Party, which is mainly the one in favor of expanding bureaucracy to cover every single facet of every life...and making those jobs the most desirable of all, because they are allotted on the basis of many things which have nothing to do with competency. And then they can never get fired. What better?

Lay them off, let them collect unemployment, and let them and their bosses (most important of all!) go out and get jobs in the real world.

Keep the essential stuff, but get rid of all this other nonsense and don’t think of hiring people for civil service because “how else could they get a job?” Literally, I heard that in NY for a government program.

I’m sure there are many very efficient and very good people who are “civil servants,” but they will be fine in the private industry world. And the others who won’t be fine might actually need to do a little career development and retraining and find a job that encourages their skills and capacities.

Build The Wall. Reopen the big government beast.

Simple as that.

Then, Trump should decide that whatever is left can be eliminated. Federal workforce reduction.

White House seeks list of programs that would be hurt if shutdown lasts into March

Considering by March all the government employees would have been two months without a paycheck I'd say all the programs would be hurt.

Plug the leaks! Run 100-200 ppl through polygraphs. Set a precedent, Donald. Then this will not occur as often in the future. At the end of the day, ppl care more about their jobs than any devotion to a political stance or fellow employees being fired, etc.

Next, cross-reference each of said programs/agencies/dept w/ A1S8 of the Constitution, then the other Amendments in a fall-through fashion.

My guess would be damn close to, if not, 0% and could thus be allowed to go unfunded if not expire/terminated.
