I'm inclined to think he's definitely heterosexual. He's taken a lot of crap in Canada in recent years for some public comments criticizing effeminate male skaters.

I always assumed he was gay because he was a flamboyant character, but he was also a tremendous athlete -- built like a pro hockey player. He was big in martial arts, and I think he was the first skater ever to turn a quad jump in competition.

What ‘norms’? Has there ever been a straight male figure skater? I certainly can’t think of any. As far as the females go, it’s just a feminist thing - being a lesbian is nothing more than simply making a ‘statement’ about hating guys - they can flip back and forth every 5 minutes, if they want to.

I recall a pair skating to Gloria Gaynor’s “I will survive.” The moves didn’t fit the song at all.

I rather expected the woman to slap the man across the face at the end of the routine - that didn’t happen...not sure if it would be legal or not...but it would have been a refreshing switch from the usual fare.
