In 1968 you could buy a Chevy Nova “SS” for $3750.00 Today a tricked out Chevy Camaro SS is over 50 grand.

Have you never heard of inflation? The dollar isn't worth anything now. According to the CPI Calculator website, $3,750.00 in January 1968 would be the same purchasing power as $27,628.26 today.

Kelly Blue Book "invoice price" on a Chevy Camaro SS (V8) is $36,515. Sure, that's 32% more than the inflation-corrected CPI figure, but the CPI figure often underestimates present-day purchase prices. And, that may be including pricey options, like a navigation system (why buy that when you have a phone?).

My point is, don't focus on dollar numbers from 1968. You have to correct for inflation to even get in the ballpark.

If you can find a tricked out Chevy Camoro SS for inflation adjusted price of 27,000 ,that’s a blue color price. Not 50 gs plus though.

Make the muscle cars affordable, make a lot of them and get rid of the federal fuel economy regulations.

Let ‘er rip!

Every blue collar steel worker and coal miner should be able to buy one!

Take a poll, any poll and add 7 points to the results to see the true approval rating.

Slightly off-topic:

Lately I’ve seen some nice pictures of Trump. He’s not orange and he doesn’t have darkness around his eyes. Makes me wonder where the orangeness and darkness comes from in other pictures of him.

You can probably add 5-10 points to the 52% for silent Trump supporters who will say disapprove just to mess with the polling.

The only issue with higher approval numbers is the ability of the media to put forth the narrative that Trump is in decline with voters when the numbers decrease. All about manipulating the undecided and independent voters, while discouraging the voters on the right.

"Forty-seven percent (47%) disapprove."

There's that number again. The one thing Mitt Romney was probably right about (back in 2012), is that there are a large number of people who will always vote Democrat. You will never get them to vote for Trump. Never. The best you can hope for is that they stay home. It may not be the 47% Mitt and this poll claim, but it's near that. Trying to win them over is a waste of time. He might be able to win over a couple more percent of the electorate, but 52% is approaching his ceiling.

Gold is 1300 today.

In 1968 Gold was 39, but that might have been under government control at the time, so I’m not sure if it will be a free market comparison.

In any case, it’s 33 times more today. That says the Chevy should be about 125,000 today, so something is obviously wrong with the value of gold in 1968.

You are correct. Gold was being constrained by the US government. It was allowed to float later in the 70’s.

A better comparison would be late 70’s or 1980 when gold was freely floating.
