Excellent question. Is he trying to focus on ecumenical reaching out to Muslims? But are Muslims amenable to such efforts, considering that conquest, not peaceful coexistence, is a key Muslim goal?
This is social gospel on steroids. But that was a problem ever since the church found itself fortuitously in a political pot of jam and then did everything it could to keep itself that way, including dumbing down the bible.
He should be boosting the name of Jesus above every other name. Not coming up with compromises where sometimes Jesus is king of the hill, and something other things are.
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. ...
