U.S President Donald Trump’s executive order instructing the American government this week to prioritize the development of artificial intelligence (AI) could trigger a “new high-technology Cold War” between the United States and China, the Beijing-run Global Times cautioned on Tuesday.

Beijing’s warning comes on the same day that Adm. Philip Davidson, the top American top in the Indo-Pacific region, told lawmakers that China’s “massive effort to grow and modernize” its military, including endeavors to manufacture “artificial intelligence-equipped weapons,” is “eroding” America’s “relative competitive military advantage” in Asia.

Trump, we need to start focusing on American businesses once again.

All of us. Far too many have been sold out to China, for far too long.

America first. :)

An AI war between the US and the Chicoms?

My money’s on the English-speaking one - Skynet.

I’ve been working on an AI project. I am building software which determines if a hate crime actually happened. So far I have:

public float hateCrimeProbability(InputStream media){
return (float)0.00;
}

I’ve tried neural networks, watson, and various other avenues, but the above fits the real world data the best.

It’s going to be interesting to see if the Chinese Language eventually beats out Engrish.

My point exactly.

Though Engrish is apparently a tough Language to learn [and there are no shortage of variants to deal with], ain’t nobodys gots time fo learnin’ dat hen scratchin’...

I think one has to be pretty intelligent to pick up much Chinese [Mandarin or such version].

“What I meant is that, as far as I can see, we have been in a cold war with Red China, involving computers and information technology, for some time now.

I think they have been, for thirty long years. I completely agree. Absolutely agree.

We however, have been selling out.

They are taking us to the proverbial woodshed.

For real. This is very, very bad

Well, I do agree with you that it does take time to learn Chinese. It took me years, and still I can only communicate on the basic way. You know, order ice cold beer. Tell the girl that she looks great and maybe spend some time at the KTV. And of course, How about another hamburger sir! 冰镇啤酒和另一个汉堡包。

They represent a giant intellectual property leech, but they have a problem. The swamp is being drained and the corrupt American side of the leech operation is being choked off. It’s no longer so easy or cheap to buy that which they need like lifeblood.
