U.S President Donald Trumps executive order instructing the American government this week to prioritize the development of artificial intelligence (AI) could trigger a new high-technology Cold War between the United States and China, the Beijing-run Global Times cautioned on Tuesday.
Beijings warning comes on the same day that Adm. Philip Davidson, the top American top in the Indo-Pacific region, told lawmakers that Chinas massive effort to grow and modernize its military, including endeavors to manufacture artificial intelligence-equipped weapons, is eroding Americas relative competitive military advantage in Asia.

All of us. Far too many have been sold out to China, for far too long.
America first. :)
An AI war between the US and the Chicoms?
My money’s on the English-speaking one - Skynet.
“Pending”?
Impending.
If I am looking at your question correctly...
I’ve been working on an AI project. I am building software which determines if a hate crime actually happened. So far I have:

I think they have been, for thirty long years. I completely agree. Absolutely agree.
We however, have been selling out.
They are taking us to the proverbial woodshed.
For real. This is very, very bad
They represent a giant intellectual property leech, but they have a problem. The swamp is being drained and the corrupt American side of the leech operation is being choked off. It’s no longer so easy or cheap to buy that which they need like lifeblood.
Sounds like a great lesson, well learned...
